Nick Norris’ Artist Statement
Nick Norris paints to create or recreate feelings of spaces, places and experiences. His paintings mostly take the form of abstract or abstracted architectural or landscape scenes. The nature of all his paintings is inherently abstract, even in cases where an easily distinguishable image is represented.
Nick Norris: “I am moved and inspired by landscape and architecture. More specifically, the impression and feeling these produce. Hence, I paint to create or recreate the feeling or atmosphere of spaces and places. This means the nature of my painting is inherently abstract, even in cases where an easily recognisable image is represented.”
