Southwest Gallery
The Southwest art gallery in Dallas is one of Texas’ oldest galleries, hosting 19th and 20th Century paintings and sculptures. As well as Southwest art, Contemporary, Western, Impressionist and Traditional art is on display.
The gallery has work available from over 100 artists. Their art consultants are always happy to help and give advice on all the items, which include bronze and antique sculptures. The gallery also offers fine art restoration and specialty framing services. One of their most popular events is the Summer Art Festival event, which includes gallery artists painting and sculpting on-site, as well as jewelry, a painting trunk-show and live music. Great fun! Southwest Gallery offers a warm welcome to its visitors and clientèle alike and we enjoyed our short but stimulating stopover.
An extract from their website on some of the fine artists that are represented by this Dallas gallery – all credit Southwest Gallery:
Bob Rohm
Inspired at an early age by French Impressionism, Bob Rohm takes his love for the simplicity of the Southwest landscape and incorporates the two into paintings of a unique atmospheric reality. Razor sharp contrasts and vivid colors come alive in these bold landscapes of Texas and beyond. The artist will also be signing copies of his new book.
Dalhart Windberg
This legendary Texas artist paints both in a smooth-brush style of the Old Masters and a delightfully textured palette knife style. Embracing a wide variety of subject matter from Texas landscapes, to majestic Grand Canyon scenes to quaint still-lifes, Windberg is a romantic realist whose work embodies a life long devotion to his art.
Harold Kraus
Always refreshing … the world according to Kraus. Enjoy his fascination with color that stays rich and shiny-wet looking, while his compositions ranging from floral still lifes to fluid abstractions speak volumes to the contemporary minded.
